Copy cat: Peter Andre gives an inspirational talk at Oxford Union just days after Katie Price speaks at Cambridge Union

Anything Katie Price can do, Peter Andre can do better... sort of.

The man from Down Under followed in the footsteps of his ex-wife by attending one of England's most prestigious higher learning establishments.

Peter, 38, gave an inspirational talk at the historic Oxford Union today, just days after Katie won a debate at the Cambridge Union.

However, while Miss Price went toe-to-toe with Rachel Johnson, sister of London Mayor Boris, Peter played it safe and gave a speech about his career in front of a packed chamber of more than 600 students.

The Insania singer then opened the floor to questions from the room about both his private life and marriage as well as his up and down career.

Spokesman for the Oxford Union, Mark Greaves, said: 'He was a real pleasure to have along and everyone really enjoyed it. We had a full house.

'He opened with a speech on motivation and about how to achieve your dreams and follow your ambitions and was very inspirational.'

Peter was very open and honest with his answers and he spoke about his battle with his panic attacks, bullying, and his charity work with the NSPCC, before being mobbed by fans upon leaving.

While the tanned singer gave a good performance, he still has a way to go before he is on par with his slightly more experienced ex-wife.

Glamour model Katie spoke at the Oxford Union last week and defeated Rachel Johnson, editor of The Lady magazine, in front of an audience of around 600 people at Cambridge Union.

The former page three model was debating the issue of female success and ambition and beat the opposing team with a landslide victory.

Before Andre's visit Mark Greaves said: 'Peter Andre is a very high profile figure and one of a range of speakers we have invited along this year.

'He is very popular and we thought he would make an interesting speaker for our members.'

Any reconciliation between Katie and Peter seems to be a long way off as he believes the mother of his children is infatuated with him.

He told Heat magazine: 'I think there is some sort of obsession with me, or us, and I just want to move on.

'She may want me back, she did 100 per cent ask me to get back together with her romantically. She wanted us to spend Christmas and New Year together but I won't ever go there. All the stories about us getting back together are not true. I won't ever go back.'

As if to hammer home the point, Peter has made it evident that he has his eye on Irish model Georgia Salpa - who appeared in the last series of Celebrity Big Brother.

'Georgia is hot,' Pete admitted. 'She has said some nice things about me so we will see. I met her last week when I was at a business lunch and she is a very sweet girl from first impressions.'

It looks as though Georgia isn't averse to the flirtation, as she has admitted that when she was younger she 'fell in love' with Peter at the height of his Mysterious Girl success.

'I had a crush on him. He was my favourite pop star. He has a great body, plus I'm Greek and he's a good Greek man,' she gushed according to OK! magazine.

A spokesperson for Peter Andre confirmed to Mail Online that Peter and Georgia 'met and they got on really well.'

Katie Price's management, Black Sheep, tweeted today: 'Because of legal issues we won't comment yet on claims in Heat today. The truth will out.'

They added: 'What happened to someone being sick of discussing KP? #thatdidnotlastlongnowdidit'
